Ministerial meeting
The parents of Gilad Schalit met with Benjamin Netanyahu after the ministerial meeting. No evidence has filtered through the discussions. Before meeting with Israeli Prime Minister, Aviva Schalit pleaded on Army Radio for a decision in the day. She hoped that the ministers "understand that their vote will mean either a death sentence for Gilad, a release." In October, for the first time since the abduction, his family was able to see Gilad Schalit in a video posted by Hamas. The latter said last month that all groups in the Gaza Strip have agreed to suspend the rocket attacks against Israel. That has not stopped some from fire, which the Israeli army responded. The prisoner exchanges are controversial in Israel, some fearing that it encourages activists to remove more hostages or former detainees commit new attacks, as was seen in the past. The Jewish state wants well as some of the released prisoners do not return to the Gaza Strip.
