Christmas Signs

In this year's Christmas Signs issue of the Dollhouse Museum Basel is a symbol of holly, with Christmas collectors better known as the "Holly Berry". By the Germans and the Celts once worshiped, holly, especially in Great Britain and North America for centuries one of the most popular Christmas themes. On this evergreen plant exhibition devoted to all shows on "Holly Berries": from two golden Christmas trees decorated with old postcards from the valuable Limoges porcelain. On the home area of holly is concentrating on central and northern Europe, Southeastern Europe, Middle East, Asia Minor, the Balkans and the Mediterranean. The plant works by their hard, evergreen, spiny toothed leaves on the edges very decorative. From September, the coveted as a Christmas decoration stone fruits turn red gradually. The red berries and leaves of Ilex aquifolium are highly toxic. 20-30 red berries are to humans as a lethal dose.
