According to a survey conducted by Deloitte, Canada 411 want more and more be treated as consumers rather than patients. They want better services, customized programs and better access to their medical records. They want to be better educated and have a choice of self-health. Moreover, they also seek to collaborate with industry stakeholders to achieve these objectives, and that, while controlling costs and using existing resources. This transition from a design based on patient-centered approach to a client will have significant implications for all industry stakeholders. It will place new demands on the health system and will bring new challenges, "said Jean-Luc Ostiguy, associate partner at
Canadian Health Care and leader of the group in Quebec Health and Social Services. "However, it also provides industry stakeholders of health care the opportunity to experiment, innovate and adapt in order to help Canadians improve their health and wellness. These results are from the Survey Report 2009 on health care of Canadian consumers by
Canadian Health Care , following the survey of 2 304 adults (including 384 in Quebec) to better understand the views of Canadians as consumers health care.
